In an endeavor to assist associate architects pursuing their professional license with the cost of exam fees for the Architectural Registration Exam, AIA Shreveport established an annual grant fund of up to $750.00. Associate architects will be eligible for a financial grant upon passing the exam and obtaining a Louisiana license. In order to be eligible for the grant:
- The applicant must be currently employed in the office of an architectural firm located Caddo or Bossier Parish.
- The applicant must have been employed in the office of an architectural firm located in Caddo or Bossier Parish for the previous 24 months before licensure.
- The applicant must be a dues paying member in good standing.
- The applicant must request the grant within six (6) months from the date of licensure.
Associates wishing to apply must deliver a written request to the Chapter Secretary and provide evidence of recent licensure. The Chapter Secretary will present the request at the next scheduled meeting of the executive board for review. If the applicant qualifies for the grant, a motion should be made and voted upon regarding the awarding of funds.
The grant will be divided equally among up to 3 successful applicants not to exceed $250.00 per recipient. A check and commemorative certificate will be presented to any recipients at the following Awards Gala. All recipients agree to have their image used in component media.
